At your age, you will need to probably get a secured credit card which means if you qualify, ask for a 1200. balance because they will charge 199. to your credit card that will reflect as a balance on your first statement.
Or if you own a car, you can get a secured loan against the vehicle.
I am with the guy above. Don't go into debt. Suck it up and save and pay cash. You don't see it because you are young, but our nation is in crisis. Only those who exercise savings value will succeed. I have a substantial savings and my husband wants to buy a motorcycle. Since we are at retirement age, he is giving guitar lessons 2 nights a week and saving for the motorcycle eventhough we have enough cash in our savings to buy several. It's wise.

You can try American Express…but be very careful. I applied for one and got it, but they didn't put a limit on me…$15,000 later they decided I had done enough damage and now Im paying it off. If you can't get approved for a visa, mastercard, amex or discover, try a store that you shop at often and build your credit from there. Make sure you buy something on it every month but always pay it off, that will build your credit very quickly.

Chase or Capital One, but why get one when you are in debt already?
Private label retail cards are easy to get as well as they want business badly. Home Depot, Sears, stores in the mall etc.
And FYI, both those companies are asshoels to deal with. Save yourself from following the trend of the rest of America and stay away from credit cards unless its a SECURED loan through your bank with a low APR.
